Web Development Training

LUSOTECHS recently took a significant step toward empowering young minds by organizing free web development lessons for members of the ICT Club at Kaseye Girls Secondary School in Chitipa. The initiative was part of the company’s broader commitment to promoting digital literacy and nurturing future innovators in underserved communities.

The program brought together a team of passionate instructors from LUSOTECHS who volunteered their time and expertise to introduce the students to the fundamentals of web development. Over the course of the training sessions, learners were guided through essential concepts such as how websites work, the structure of web pages using HTML, styling with CSS, and an introduction to basic interactivity.

What made the experience particularly impactful was its hands-on approach. Students were not only taught theory but were also given the opportunity to build their own simple web pages. For many of them, it was their first time creating something digital from scratch, and the excitement in the room was evident as their ideas began to take shape on screen.

The sessions also emphasized problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration—skills that are critical in the modern digital world. The LUSOTECHS team encouraged the students to think beyond the classroom and see technology as a tool they can use to address real-world challenges in their communities.

Teachers at Kaseye Girls Secondary School expressed their appreciation for the initiative, noting that access to such practical knowledge is often limited in remote areas. The ICT Club members, on the other hand, described the training as inspiring and eye-opening, with many expressing a newfound interest in pursuing careers in technology.

By the end of the program, the students had gained not only technical skills but also confidence in their ability to learn and innovate. LUSOTECHS’ outreach serves as a powerful reminder that investing in education—especially in technology—can unlock potential and create opportunities for the next generation.

The company has indicated its intention to continue such initiatives in other schools, aiming to bridge the digital divide and ensure that more young people, regardless of location, have access to the skills needed in today’s technology-driven world.
